Nope. If they put him back in before the next election it would be a hilarious admission of defeat that will hurt the Tories even more, then at the next vote hes almost certainly going to lose his seat. Bye bye Boris.

This was his whole plan. Support the nutcase over the bad, but at least lives in reality option, watch her blow it all up, then come back in a new leadership vote. There are a few problems with this plan.

  1. He was the one who started the mess in the first place both with his terrible governing and also his purging the party of anybody competent.
  2. The party knows that switching leaders too quickly would portray them as even more weak, indecisive, and undemocratic.
  3. If they do switch leaders and install the deeply unpopular clown who started many of the current problems and was doing terribly in the various elections over the last year, it will look even worse.
  4. If he waits until the next general election, he will near surely be out because he is in a marginal seat.
So it is his plan, but its a crap plan by a desperate buffoon.

still a better plan than anybody in labour has, unless you count "lets do nothing and hope they implode so badly we get voted in by default"

To be fair Labour did just have their first conference that actually went pretty well and wasnt a nightmare of infighting for like five years! Whatever the strategy is it seems to be working

He should never be PM again but if the conservatives think that he could still win them the next GE with how awful Truss has been after only a few weeks they would do it.
