I've been using a spray that I bought at a pet store but I'm still getting bitten.

Well first you'll want a flea treatment like Frontline or Advantage/Advantix for you pet. (ask your vet)

and then a good flea powder or spray for your carpets.

Fleas dont live on humans very well so either your cat has them or youre getting bit from ones living in grass or something

best bet is to get some flea medicine for your cat and probably wash your bed linens in hot water

Thanks. I washed my sheets and blankets and pillow cases.

And I washed my cats bed.

My legs are still getting destroyed. I'll vacuum tomorrow if this spray doesn't help.

Bomb the house with foggers. Failing that, bomb the house with pipe bombs.

Some people just attract fleas more. Back in my teens the fleas would often bite my mom and I, but my dad and sister were never touched.

If your cat is fully grown go the vet and get the best flea medicine they have. Your infestation will fall in time as the host becomes unsustainable for the pests.

The problem is if you have an infestation, killing the fleas won't be enough. You'll need to kill their eggs, which can be dormant for a really long time...

Treat your pet, and Home Depot and lowes sell a trap that uses heat and glue. Buy 1-2 of those and set it out for a few days, that should get most of them

Treat your pet, wash all bedding and vacuum the shit out of your carpet. Go hard at it for about a month

if you are frequently getting bitten then the infestation is likely bad enough that you need an exterminator though. Fleas dont usually go after humans aggressively unless there is an enormous amount of them

there you go, Ive used one and it works very well. Just make sure it uses a light source as the heat helps attract them their doom. And keep it away from your cat

I had the same problem when I moved a few weeks back. Get a bowl fill it with water, add some liquid soap and leave it under a night light all day and night.

The light will attract the fleas and they die instantly in water. After a few days you should be good.

The #1 way to beat a flea infestation, as much as it kinda sucks, is DAILY vacuuming. Flea eggs are resistant to sprays, so you need to make sure to suck up the next generation as they hatch.

Also if you do wash blankets/pillowcases/etc make sure to dry them on the highest heat setting. The eggs might survive the wash, but the heat will kill them.

This then treat carpet and vacuum. After they're gone consider getting ur cat on a preventative plan so they can't come back. It's possible even after eradicating then you or it can track them in then they breed.

Thanks y'all. Vacuuming helped a ton. I also sprayed more of the flea spray I bought and I'll keep doing it every 3 days or so. I got bit once or twice tonight but it's way better than getting 10+ before bed. And last night I gave my cat one of those monthly flea gels but I don't know how fast they take.

The key is to kill the eggs. Bomb, wash and dry sheets, vacuum. Then do it a week later. Then one more week later. It's the eggs you want to kill.
