At my work theres 13 rural routes which are all contracted. One of the other contract routes is adjacent to the two I deliver and is delivered by an older woman who has been having a shit year. One of her daughters died in a car accident in February, which was followed by her only son committing suicide in March, and her husband just died in June. After each of those events I volunteered to carry her route along with my own dispatch for as long as she needs. Overall probably put about 150 hours in on that route this year, usually meaning I was gone at work for 11-14 hours, 6 days a week for a few weeks at a time. Thats in addition to spending time at home studying her edit sheet so I wouldnt be making a ton of mistakes on her route.

being a decent person isnt an accomplishment, but Id like to hear your answer to that question
