When asked about the dead civilians, she said "It's Game of Thrones, civilians don't count!" which also made people wary. That's understandable tho since how war effects the common folk is a major them of ASoIaF so that's really missing the point.

I agree. Most monarchs feel they're above common people. And Targaryens ESPECIALLY feel that way with the doctrine of Targaryen exceptionalism allowing them to marry their siblings.

It's one thing to say civilians don't count from the perspective of the characters. It's another when it's the perspective of the writers themselves. The writer called it "heroic" when the visuals say otherwise. >_>

Yes , its the opposite of how GRRM would write. He shows the suffering of the people in a negative light, and wouldnt treat this moment as a good thing for Rhaenys. It seems the writer cares more for the nobles then the commoners, when GRRM would do the opposite.

I didnt hate the episode and thought it was good enough but its forsure the weakest episode 9 in the franchise (GOT S1-6). Thats the only part that sucks, the rest has been so good I was hoping for an amazing episode 9.
