First if fancy watches is your thing..you do you. This is not meant to take you joy or rag on you.

However be personally I just don't get it. I saw this Rolex be sold that is much then my car. And it just looks like a average watch. I just don't get it.

Combination of jewelry, technology, and conspicuous consumption.

I don't get the appeal of any kind of watches.

I was super into them for a few years I had a few Grand Seikos, a Rolex, a Breitling, and a Panarai. I was into them because I enjoy the mechanical aspect of them but I ended up getting an Apple watch a year ago now I never wear them unless I'm going to an especially formal event.

i used to not get it. but i realized watches in general can be an important male fashion accessory for one, and what's more is that high-end luxury watches can be an investment. some luxury watches even appreciate in value and sell for more secondhand than for retail. or increase your net worth on paper more than retail.

I really like retro watches. Like old red LCD displays.

it's a lot to spend on something that looks relatively ordinary.

which is honestly the entirety of mainstream men's fashion.

They are fine within reason, I'm not a watch guy but I like how a lot look.

Now one of the leaders of an African nation wears a literal million dollar watch, and that's just grossly absurd.

I don't get the appeal of fancy apparel period.

I dont wear watches or jewelry of any kind but its cool when others do, I just never cared for it myself

my fitbit is as good a watch as any.

I'll probably buy a Navitimer when I hit 40 because it actually looks nice but that's it. I still don't get the appeal of Rolexes because unless you're a watch nerd or can see the logo, it looks like any other watch

I'm a fan of Breitling and currently own a SuperOcean. Might grab a Navitimer too at some point but that'll be it.

It's a fashion accessory these days, while before it used to be a necessity.

I don't wear them either and I barely did as kid when they had an actual function

$350 is about my upper limit for a watch, anything above that you're buying a name and massively overpaying for something that does the same job.

I'm hooked on Invicta watches now because their pricing starts at about $40 and goes up from there. I have about 15 now and I can coordinate the watch to my clothes or activity and am always getting compliments and people asking about the watch I'm wearing that day

I like watches a lot but I can't justify spending more than a few grand. You can get replicas of high end watches for a few hundred bucks and 99% of people aren't going to be able to tell it's fake unless they know what they're looking at.

Invictas are good looking watches. Saw them a lot at the pawn shop I used to work at.

I can't wear watches at work, safety hazard.

And I'm a homebody otherwise so.
No appeal to me.

Then you should know those are LEDs.

Watches are great. It's one of the few accessories men have that they can wear. A good watch can complete an outfit and can also be a time piece to be passed down for generations.

Of course you're not gonna get an appeal for watches if you're only looking at the most expensive ones because those are out of your scope. There are plenty of affordable ones that look just as good.

My phone has the current time. Watches are superfluous now.
