Place an order for food to be picked up, $31.55

Same order, now for delivery: $40-42; not including tip; apparently a $9.00 service fee is not the tip. Drivers always bitch about low tips too, so you're expected to pay $7-10 for a tip too.

So $50 for a $31.55 order

Yep, Im pretty much done using them. Its just not worth it.

Mind you, thats also higher because the app charges more for the food than the restaurant.

Better to order direct from the restaurant.

i will say, if i was a doordash/grubhub person, and i knew i was quitting, i would wait for a fat order to come in, do exactly that, then leave with all my bomb ass food as a severance check

BTW this order with the $9 service fee is with a $0.49 delivery fee. I've seen places have $~11 delivery fee, so $20 extra + $7-10; so $27-30 extra for delivery.

If the restaurant has its own app or delivery service, always go through that first.

McDonalds direct has a $2 fee here, using UberEats has a $5 fee. It adds up.

Yeah I'm no lawyer but if you could get sued for fucking with someone's doordash order, nobody would work that job. Even if you are 100% sure you wouldn't mess with anyone's food, you're still not going to want to take that risk if someone thinks you did.

It depends where you are. Here it costs about a dollar at the very most for delivery and the food is all the same price as buying it in person. Tips arent expected.
