The muscles for pull ups aren't used particularly often so if you aren't in at least decent shape and young I'd imagine it'd be very hard for most.

To be fair these are a lot harder as an adult than they were as a kid, since you weigh more. I could probably do 2 but Im out of shape.

Pullups are really tough for women, that's kinda unavoidable. Even the ones that train struggle big time.

And there are probably few movements where you move so much weight with such little muscles.

But these dudes should have been able to rattle off one, come on dudes

Pull ups are pure strength to weight ratio. Fat/obese people will not be able to 1. Heavy but muscular people can do some but not as many as skinny and lean people. Skinny and lean people can rep them out easily.

Yeah as a fat person myself, always struggled with pullups.

Thing most i could do at one time was 6 when i got down to 200lb.
Cant do any right now but always been my goal to do 10 at one time. Should be easier when i drop down the weight.

Hard when you start off having to pull up more than 100lbs than an average nonfat person.

I can get 5 easily. I weight about 8 more pounds from what I did in high school mostly muscle and I'm more physically active then when I was in High School and in better shape except for cardio. That would be 15 years ago as well.
