It's too complex to boil down to a story of "hero" Anne Hathaway fighting some evil antagonist. She's a young woman trying to make it in a harsh, unforgiving industry. Her boyfriend is immature and often is selfish. He doesn't do a very good job of supporting her but he isn't some evil force trying to sabotage her either.
