I saw this on my radar. Looked like a platformer.

The commercials were interesting.

Just done the Transylvania level (because it's an 8-bit globe trotting platformer, so there has to be a Transylvania level).

It's pretty good fun. Nothing groundbreaking obviously, but there's a pretty nice amount of attention to detail (you can trade GPK cards with the NPCs and they're all actual cards that used to exist), some of the cards you collect give you the powers of the kid in the card, and the level was a pretty fair length.

Some of the tighter platformy bits, like jumping across the conveyor belts (because it's an 8-bit platformer, so there has to be a bit where you jump across conveyor belts) were a bit tricky, but that's more down to the fact that it has fairly stiff controls in keeping with the retro vibe.

I like it enough that I'll go back to it and finish it off at a time when it's not twenty to midnight on a weeknight, haha.

I'll say this for it - if there were to have been a NES/Master System game based on the Garbage Pail Kids at the peak of their popularity, then I do think it would have been exactly like this game, so in that respect if nothing else they nailed it.

I hated Garbage Pail Kids as a kid, but I have to admit that the marketing in that video is pretty gud >_> Still won't play it though.
