There's a book series about a young Merlin. In one of them he's visited by his older self who can travel through time. His older self is quite obviously drinking Coke, but his young self is so frightened and disgusted by the hissing black drink that he gives it a hard pass.

If its a McDonalds sprite I could see it happening
