The reason this is such a huge deal in Japan because unlike here in the States, VA's are very closely tied to the characters they play as. Why do you think Goku is still being played by an Old Woman? It's a very collectivist way of thinking and this kind of news might have impacts on the shows/games he's done as well like bad PR.

Meanwhile when men CHEAT, they get to keep their careers (except Tatsuhisa because of other things he did)

Don't you see the problem here, and how it actually helps reinforce the point I'm trying to make? Women are punished for doing nothing wrong, men get away with awful behaviour. It's bullshit.

Like when people tried to make a scandal out of Akari Kito just BEING NEAR a man in public. No sex. No cheating. Just STANDING close to a man in public. Society's shitty double standards need to change.
