More than once.

Once. "Voluntarily". Meaning either I checked myself in or I'd be committed against my will. Worst experience of my life and was a real turning point in my decades long battle against depression. I'm honestly surprised I'm still alive at this point because when I got out, I seriously considered putting an end to it.

Yes. The mental health profession is chock full of sucky people who generally tend to make things worse more often then not.

the best part was not worrying about meals at all. You get 3 meals every day and the food wasnt bad. Worst part is that some people are violent or perverts or just unpredictable in their behavior.

No. But I have family members I really love and respect that have. So, it's hard to judge anyone when literally my favorite people in the world have ended up going. It's crazy how smart you can be but still have that place in your mind that can't find restraint. It's why I hate when people try to judge anyone off one event or ending up maybe needing more dramatic help to get back on track. I believe you can find that track and stay on it with the right influences and stuff. Sadly, some people will end up right back in the bad influences because there's nowhere else to go

Went as an emergency due to a mental breakdown where I was crying the WHOLE day. The nurse was super good to me and understanding. The dr was the other way around. A but dismissive of how I felt and just prescribed some mild anxiety pills.

Did go back for partial hospitalization where you take classes for a week to help you manage whatever it is youre going through and it was a pretty good experience which Id recommend to everybody.

Interesting thing was that the first day of treatment there was this young woman who entered with me and suddenly started taking out knives from her backpack and stabbed the seats, and throwing whatever snacks she brought with her. She was supposed to be in the same class with me, but Im assuming she got fully hospitalized.
