I just got the updated booster shot a couple days ago

I've had 4 vaccines

What more is there to do at this point. It's been nearly 3 years now I can't live in fear forever

You can still mask up when youre sick, but you did your part, Republicans are not, more Republicans are dying from COVID than Democrats

We just deserve it at this point. Sacrifice everything to the altar of capitalism. I've personally done all that I can. I still don't go to major sporting events, mask up whenever I go out, and have had 4 shots, including the new bivalent booster. Nobody wears a mask anymore.

We have a school that's been closed since Wednesday because 25% of the students and 20% of the staff are out with covid.

idk, I'm not intermingling much, but there's no point in wearing a mask outside of an N95 in a crowded setting.

Yeah. Someone made a topic the other day that was essentially "how come everywhere is short staffed but unemployment is low?" and it's a complicated answer but a big part of it is millions of people died

Our collective response to Covid was basically the same as a person dealing with how to treat a debilitating injury - either undergo painful surgery and months of difficult physical therapy in order to get yourself back to full health, or ignore / half-ass your treatment and walk with a limp for the rest of your life. Obviously the United States chose B, and we're going to have to live with that choice for the foreseeable future.

current covid death rates come out to around the same amount as the flu per year worldwide. Flu is much harder to track obviously because it's tested for less, so it's usually an estimation. It just tends to kill more people in poorer countries while covid is killing a bunch of people in the US because half of us and our former president are morons.

If nothing else the mask might jog some peoples' memory and get them thinking about it again.

I am working at a clinic and I made them start charging for masks to get people to start bringing their mask. People are done with the pandemic.

Oh yeah, my community's school district is getting hammered by the flu. The phone rings nonstop with a parent terrified for their kid with the usual symptoms, cough, cold, fever.

Probably killing mostly republicans though

COVID-19s legacy will be millions of early deaths from cardiovascular events and weakened immune systems being overwhelmed by other illnesses.

Its pretty personal for me: my girlfriend is one of the immunocompromised whose ability to participate safely in society without risking possibly lethal illness has been deemed an acceptable sacrifice in the name of eternal economic growth.
