When he didn't even come by the sharingan naturally and there was a whole dang clan of people who could do the same thing?

It's like the author gave him that nickname before deciding everyone would have eye-jutsus.

He had a side job at Kinko's

Because he copied a lot of techniques.

Probably done way before much of the later details with the Uchiha were ironed out.

They explained it like immediately afterwards

I feel like they're more famous for their own specific techniques. Most Uchiha didn't spend a ton of time copying techniques. They were primarily famous for their genjutsu, fire style, and shuriken techniques.

Kakashi was specifically famous for knowing over a thousand techniques that he copied over his career.

Didn't Madara left pretty early after establishing Konoha? Like a literal old school village. Start of Naruto Konoha looked like a developing modern city with buildings government facilities etc. Probably not a whole lot of people are aware of him during Kakashi's time

Why is the veteran ninja who's been on countless missions and copied hundreds of jutsu called the Copy Ninja

They probably stuck to their standard Uchiha clan jutsus.

Kakashi wouldn't have those so it makes sense that he needs to rely on copying stuff.

The equivalent of Kinko's in Japan is Kakashi's.

If anything, for a copy ninja he really only used Raikiri, dog summons, and shadow clones lol.

Madara didn't exist when Kakashi was given the nick name.

Madara had been dead for a while before Kakashi got that name

I really, really don't think this is the case. How often do you see the most famous Uchiha shinobi using copied techniques? Sasuke is the only one who uses somebody else's techniques at all, and ironically it's one he learned from Kakashi, and it's one of the only ones that Kakashi didn't copy from someone else.

Watch the first fight between Kakashi and Zabuza to see why he is called the copy ninja. The way he would use his Sharingan and trick his opponent into thinking he wasnt just mirroring all his jutsu, but actually predicting the future, was very dominant and world famous before the series.

The real answer was the author didn't really think of this through. It happens to any manga series that goes for as long as something like Naruto does.

Also lets not forget Kakashi even pre-sharingan was a pretty exceptional ninja.

This too, Kakashi was a prodigy and the best of his generation, and the youngest ever to be promoted to Jonin even before he got the Sharingan. Most Uchiha werent close to his skill, its no surprise he could find more creative ways to use the Sharingan

??? I dont remember that at all

Because everyone else who could were dead at that point, minus the guy who did it and his brother who couldn't yet.

Because 1: He copied a shitton of techniques, 2: Most people that could do it were dead outside 3 and 3: Cause he did it when he shouldn't be able to since he wasn't born with a sharingan or rinnegan.

Probably because he wasnt a Uchiha. Aka someone not an Uchiha that can copy techniques or a copy ninja.
