For games, it's Road Runner's Death Valley Rally on SNES. I was 5 or 6. I stand by my assessment from back then, too. It really does have terrible level design and the music is some of the worst you'll find on SNES. But the visuals are nice and mechanically I don't think it's a bad concept.

For books, it's hard to say. I tended to kind of enjoy nearly everything I picked up early on. I remember thinking Gone with the Wind was pretty boring when I grabbed it in 7th grade (age 12) just so I could get the massive Accelerated Reader points from a test on it.

Shows: Barney & Friends. Hated the singing, thought he gave dinosaurs a terrible name and look. Age 4.

Films: My Fair Lady (1964). Kind of a weird story with this one, but as a kid I hated nearly every live action musical. This one stands out just because of one particular night I was trying to sleep and my mom insisted on watching it at high volume so I could hear it in my bedroom. When I came out to complain about it, she got furious with me. I think I was 8.

The first thing I remember thinking yep, this is bad is the game Aero Fighters Assault for the N64, I would have been 8 or 9 when I played it. Its an awful air combat game that I would later find out is considered one of the worst N64 games so my young taste was pretty spot on!

For films the first I really remember definitely having a not good reaction to in the cinemais Attack of the Clones, I would have been 11. Amusingly I would continue to like The Phantom Menace for years after and I still maintain that while not good its a much better film. I was so hyped for more Star Wars and around the Geonosis parts I was just incredibly disappointed about how little I cared about it all. I was just bored by it that had never happened. Before thenI think, I had watched all the 007 movies on TV (they were playing every Sunday night from the first film on) and I enjoyed them all until I got to A View to a Kill which was just dreadful. Again I think I would have been 8 or 9 roughly.

Books and shows I am less clear on. There was definitely a dreadful show for young children called Tweenies that my younger sister was watching when I was 9 that I knew I wasnt the target audience for but still found utterly repellant.

Incidentally I played that Road Runner game and actually liked it hahaha.

I think it was Where The Red Fern Grows that I chucked to the side and announced "I wish you'd quit making me read books where the dog dies"

For video games I think it's gotta be Lord of the Rings for the SNES. It's one of those that had some neat ideas, especially for the time, but boy did they whiff the execution.

Not really sure when this was. It's hard to peg the exact age where I was able to think critically enough to move from "I don't like this" to "This is bad."

Yeah I got to agree about the LOTR video game. It was bad.

Disagree about the book though, it was a sad book but well written. I think the first bad book I read was some horse book my mother bought me because for some reasons she thought I liked horses.

I remember when I realized that Scooby Doo used the exact same, flowchart, unchanging template for every single episode. And I even recognized that it was supposed to be aimed at kids, so if even a kid like me could see right through the shallow writing then it must be really bad.

This question is probably more interesting if I try to think about video games.

First game I think was Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, I must've been around 7 or 8. I remember in my head thinking wow this just does not feel as fun to play as the PS1 games and I also thought it looked ugly. I would find out many years later most people felt the same!

The first movie I thought was bad was actually ET but I also didn't understand it all (was also around 8).

First ever? Probably Wheel of Fortune for the NES
:-( I liked that game. I played it enough to recognize some of the puzzles just by memorization.

Anyway, my answer would probably be some DOS PC games with a text-based UI that I just couldn't figure out. One of them was backgammon - I could never make out how to make a legal move. Not knowing the rules to backgammon didn't help...
