Like you mentioned, all the callbacks and references are super cool (even going as far back as the Stand By Me reference). And the trainers they made for this are super well designed and characterized too. The pikachu always weirds me out though. One of my favorite shots is the one with the girl trainer of Sun/Moon and Lillie.
