So I've made some pretty good progress on a Parody/Satire list. I'd like to host, but I would just need some help with the formatting/technical aspects of it.

I think about 20 of those are still on there. I can probably post the actual list/topic after I get off work.

I actually started throwing together a rough "action hero" list but it's pretty incomplete right now

One of the YouTubers I follow oftentimes collaborates with others to do a "31-on-31" at the end of 31-day months, and one time they did those franchises plus some other things (point is, they always rank 31 movies with there being a theme of sorts to each ranking). Last August they did "Monsters and Machines", a ranking of every Alien, Blade Runner, Terminator, Predator, RoboCop, Total Recall, and Matrix movie. The only reason I didn't directly suggest that is because I know some of those movies were featured on a sci-fi ranking back in 2018.

I quickly made a long-list for the Road Comedies list, made from the previous list I had submitted many years ago along with additions I made recently sifting through lists of films in the genre, trying to avoid sequels/remakes to other movies already on the list. Like most lists, this will probably end up being narrowed down to 30ish. The bolded films are virtually locks unless a major objection comes up (although I may opt for cutting one of the family-friendly trio of AWTY/RV/College in favor of a variety-adding addition). I've provided some potential objections to films that I didn't bold, and the ones that I didn't either bold or provide objections to are either low-priority options or I simply don't know enough about. Please feel free to comment or recommend films not on the list!

It Happened One Night (1934)
One of the Bing Crosby/Bob Hope Road to Movies (1940s/50s) - Which one? Have they aged too poorly for general viewing in 2023?

Smokey and the Bandit (1977) - Haven't seen it. Does it really capture what I'm going for here?
The Muppet Movie (1979) - Has it been done? Does the fact that its mostly puppets make it too different or spice up the list with some variety?

Follow That Bird (1985) - See The Muppet Movie. Even if the group decides theyre fine, Ill most likely only include one or the other.

Little Miss Sunshine (2006) - Technically a comedy-drama, but too much of a drama for a comedy list?
Wristcutters: A Love Story (2006) - Takes place in kind of a fantasy world Does that add variety or detract from the intentions of the list? Is the subject matter to dark/triggering for a comedy list?
Borat (2006) - On the satire list, definitely getting cut.
The Bucket List (2007) - See Little Miss Sunshine
Wild Hogs (2007) - Notable for its extremely poor reception. I saw it many years ago and didnt think it was THAT bad.
College Road Trip (2008)
Sex Drive (2008)
I Love You, Beth Cooper (2009)
The Hangover (2009) - Not really what Im going for, as the overwhelming majority takes place in one city (compare this to, for example, Dumb and Dumber which settles into one city for the second half but the first half is the very picture of what Im looking for out of films on the list). This one will most likely be cut.
Zombieland (2009) - Pretty sure this ones been done before.

Little Miss Sunshine is way more a comedy than it is a drama

Also the The Muppet Movie hasnt been done and I see nothing wrong with puppets

yeah Blues Brothers was in musicals fairly recently

I'd probably lean against B&B and AGM, not just because they've been done, but also because animated movies in live-action lists just traditionally haven't been mixed?

Fear and Loathing should be a lock imo, and Wild Hogs is a dumb movie but a great fit for this list

Wristcutters is a deep cut I wasn't really expecting but a solid inclusion as well imo

For consideration: Green Book

one of the biggest road trip movies of the last few years and Best Picture winner. It's status as a comedy is iffy but it did win the Golden Globe for best comedy, so there's that

Smokey and the Bandit should be included imo.
