Biden's administration has had a hate-boner for bullshit "oh by the way" fees for awhile. It's just been overshadowed by the weekly shitstorm.
Also, going right at Ticketmaster is an attempt (though a bit misguided) to find an "everyday" example. Something like Doordash would have been better.

Yeah, it definitely would've been a better example, but I just chalk it up to the people working on it just using what they know as an example to mitigate the risk of saying stupid shit on accident these days.

Now that others have pointed out the proposal is for more than just "concert fees" but will include things that affect a lot more people, like unecessary bank fees and flight change fees, has your opinion on the proposal changed at all?

His overall point is he is wanting to combat hidden fees to address price gouging and artificial inflation.

It's an attempt to eliminate many of the fees companies use to nickel and dime their customers.

Take away the "death by a thousand cuts" fees that are everywhere.

Not ONLY processing fees on tickets.

So you should've known that, while he didn't specifically say what else was included, you should've known it was more than just concert ticket processing fees.

Taking "like processing fees on concert tickets" to mean they're literally only going after concert ticket processing fees is so silly. It's one single example because twitter has a character count (surprise, I know) so sometimes you have to be concise and assume that your readers can extrapolate.

Shelf-price at the grocery store should reflect sales tax and any deposit, for example.
The "$30 a line" phone ads really should be "$72 for the two-line minimum, and a bunch of random taxes and fees", as another.

True that. I think I paid about 10% in services charges last time I used Airbnb. I get why cleaning fees are a thing, but thats also pretty high considering how much you personally clean the place before leaving.

I like music, but im glad i never really cared to go to a concert.

Im a big sports fan though, but at least there are ways to get tickets decent prices for them. Especially depending on the day, time, and team.

There are bigger things.

But thankfully, the Executive Branch is big enough to do multiple things at once, and this probably required a "yeah, sure, do that" at most from Biden.

This is fucking awesome, as someone who gets regularly fucked by Ticketmasters fees.

Im going to Cannibal Corpse/Immolation on Tuesday, $27.50 tickets were $40 after fees and thats on the low side. Thank fuck my Nine Inch Nails and Rage Against the Machine tickets this year werent through those scheming fucks.

The only "burden" would be the annoyance of having to enter a zipcode earlier in the process.
