I stopped after season 1.

yeah, pretty much the same for me. tried a couple episodes of season 2 but wasnt feeling it at all

either Theyd have to contrive ways to retcon the deaths of all the characters you cared about or it would just be starting over with a fresh batch of characters

I suffered through season 2 which was just terrible. Season one was a masterpiece and self contained, it didn't need any sequels

I mean it was explained to us directly in the Season 4 finale by Christina/Dolores what Season 5 was gonna be about. Dolores says she's gonna run one more test, basically see if the digital humans and hosts can find a way to survive together in the Sublime.

Look, I'm not arguing it sounded like a great final season, but it would have at least been closure to this shitshow. As it stands, Christina, Teddy, Maeve, etc, are all waiting around in the Sublime, and we'll never know if they and humans pass the test.

It was cancelled for being too expensive and the viewership was dropping

I watched season 1 and it was really good. Quickly became disinterested during season 2, though. The philosophy was more interesting to me than any us vs. them action movie stuff.

Didn't watch S3 since S2 was so inferior to the AMAZING S1. Sad!

Yeah fuck it, I'm just gonna go with the season 1 ending as a natural stopping point. Season 4 was hot garbage and I was previously entertained by seasons 1-3 despite their many flaws and ridiculousness

considering the news that the stars would be paid for S5, the signs point to the story revolving around them again

I actually already assumed the series had ended with season 4.
Honestly, I thought season 2 and 3 were fine, especially since I think the alternative would have been more of the same of season 1, which would not have worked for long.

Also in season 4, iirc Frankie (Jesse Pinkman's daughter) and her group survived, right? Last I remember seeing they escaped the city, though I guess there wouldn't be much for them to do as the rest of humanity is dead.
