I came in to post it because it is indeed terrible (with a few bangers like Beautiful and Underground), though Em honestly has a few subpar albums on his resume. But seriously as bad as Encore is, it's still got nothing on Relapse and it deserves a special mention even among his weaker albums. Apparently Relapse has had a very miniscule resurgence in respect but those people are wrong and I can assure you it's still the consensus and the consensus is correct. Recovery was considered somewhat a return to form after two bad albums. And a hot take from me: I could not give a shit less about Tool's first album Undertow and they're probably my favorite band ever. But you know, I guess that's a hot take apparently (summoning all Tool fans please). I just like spiritual Tool over angry Tool okay --- Feel the sadnesss of the Earth, and I close my eyes.
