i don't understand

Kiwami is an HD remake of 1. 0 is a prequel. Like a Dragon is the start of the new series that was supposed to move past the original main character but seems like they're already kinda backing away from sidelining Kiryu or something.

Yeah. If f you see the dates when the games come out it'll make things more clear.

Play them in story order, so 0 first.

they all say 2020 for me because that's when my specific platform actually got them

yeah def start with 0 first

i started with 1 and quit because it just annoyed me with how janky it felt to play

then i discovered that it's just a remaster of a ps2 game and the jank made sense but it didn't stop it from feeling awful to play so

Rumor has it that the Yakuza series never actually began and all entries released at the same time.

yeah thats why everyone says to start with 0 first lol

you'd still have to play the others though so i don't see what the point would be

its a better entry into the series, once your in if you really like 0 youll be more ready to wade through a lil jank for the characters and story you are more invested in

if the next game i play in a series is functionally worse then i just drop the entire series man

incidentally i've reached this point with pokemon, sca/vi is going to make or break the series for me

I admit the only game in the series I've played is 0. It's a fun game and I'll for sure pick up the others eventually.

technically Like a Dragon is just the original japanese title of the game, they'd already started phasing out the localized title by calling 7 "Yakuza: Like a Dragon" and the next mainline will simply be Like a Dragon 8

0 is the best one, one of my top games of all time
