There's definitely some truth to the fact that the subgenre of racing games that focuses on hyperrealism are going to start to feel kind of the same as they all converge on a sufficiently realistic physics model.

Which is why you should be playing games like burnout and wipeout. Screw realism, focus on fun.

That being said, I've got a couple of friends who play iRacing and there's something to be said for playing multiplayer games against actual legitimate NASCAR drivers who are practicing in their off season.

Forza Horizon on harder settings with tuners and whatnot is just like the normal sim series, and you have all the bonus shit and open world to do on top of it.

The game is considered arcade and it is with base settings, but the settings are very deep and you can turn the game sim.
