Current Events > The only Splinter Cell game I've ever played past the OG was Conviction, recs?

So when I was young my ADHD, Asperger's etc pretty much but a block on me being able to play stealth games. I just wanted to be aggressive and I was a lot more impatient. Conviction kinda rewards being a jackass because it is easy to shoot your way out of you get spotted.

Now that I'm enjoying MGS, Hitman etc, what Splinter Cell games are the best? I wouldn't mind a mix of action and stealth, in fact I prefer it.

Also any other stealth action game recommendations would be great. I'm getting TLOU part 2 during black Friday deals I'm sure as an early Christmas present too. I really enjoyed the gameplay from the first.

Chaos Theory
Blacklist = Splinter Cell 1 (tie)

in that order

Based on your criteria, Blacklist is gonna be your big one. It's a direct sequel to Conviction, lifts a lot of mechanics from it, while also highly stealthifying it like the older games

Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy PLEASE

Double agent was a dogshit sandwich. CT is, and probably always will be, king. Conviction was not good. Blacklist was a step in the right direction for the series, but nowhere near as good as CT.

also, the Sniper Elite games

Blacklist lets you play stealthily or with guns blazing, and is pretty easy even on the highest difficulty. I remember the side content being better than the main game.

Chaos Theory is the best of the best. Blacklist isn't so shabby either.

Double Agent is garbage. But I only played the 360 version, allegedly the OG Xbox version is good

I wouldn't mind a mix of action and stealth, in fact I prefer it.

Blacklist. and thats your only real option in terms of more "freeform" gameplay within the series. CT is considered the best in the series, but is definitely more classic stealth focused. Blacklist itself is very good.

Oh yeah I bought both of these game in 2019 when I got my PS4 and never finished them. Can I play lost legacy without knowing the story for 4 or should I definitely play 4 first

One of the main characters in Lost Legacy is featured a lot in 4, plus something else from 4 does come up, but it's not really necessary to do 4 first. it would enhance the experience if story is yer thing, otherwise nah

what's great about LL is they brought back the silenced pistol from U3, idk why 4 got rid of it. but you can do some absolutely sick clean stealth action in LL as a result. and a lot of the action action encounters are straight up better than any other uncharted's

Thanks for the recommendation. I forgot I had these games because they are on disk($10 a piece on black Friday) and I had to uninstall them to make room for other games I was playing at one point.
