I used to play a 4v4 ORPG called Guild Wars, and in the PvP Arena you could make a character that survived almost everything that was FoTM, but couldn't kill anything. If you got them to concentrate fire on you, you could help your team quite a bit, however sometimes you used to be the only one left...

And I used to 1v4 everything, and just wait for them to leave. A lot of teams did not in fact leave, and just got more and more annoyed that I was 1v4 them all, and not leaving.
The vitriol they would spill, was magnificent.

I wish people didn't all have the same go-to list of argument winners and designated funny quips. Even when they aren't hostile it stops a lot of playerbases from having much identity.

I welcome it. I've made gamers rage with such ease I get second-hand embarrassment for them.

I've got multiple videos on my YouTube of hate mail compilations complaining that I've beat them fair and square. Several of them had enough free time to type up paragraphs upon paragraphs on their Xbox 360 controllers.

Laughed for days.

I used to get hate mail from people I beat in Persona 4 Arena, they would call me f-bomb and said my mom was a whore and other things. Everytime I read them, I would be mentally rubbing my nipples over shit. It was felt so good to get all this shade typed up and thrown at me just for beating them in a fighting game match >_>

I don't mind trash talk (hell there is a lot of old 360 rage messages I got that I actually found hilarious. Gears of war 1 MP back in 2006 is where I first heard the insult "your mom should have swallowed your dad's nut" and all I could respond with was "damn man, lol" since that was a new one to me back then).

What I have always found lame is when you can out-talk someone and the dude you are going back and forth with gets desperate when they can no longer come back with anything and just resort to basic racist insults/hidden ku klux klansman comes out or whatever in the end. Just the same insults you hear ad infinitum, so at that point you just need the other guy to shut up so you and your boys can carry on with whatever your previous conversation was.

The options are too descriptive for me to pick one. I find it mildly amusing.

No, it was fun back when Kinect came with the Xbox One and people would use their Kinect as a mic. So all it took when someone had a ton of background noise from a person's mic to say "Xbox shut down" and it would go through their TV speakers and turn their console off.

Used to piss ppl off on gta 4 online. I'd join friendly fire OFF freemode games and kill people slowly with the rpg (they get launched in the air and still get fall damage haha. Can put them in a loop cuz it takes forever for them to get back up to run away).

Used to piss ppl off in resistance 2. Me and my bro would do split screen online mode and join friendly fire on games and kill off members of our own team. Pretty sure we got kicked fast most of the time to do any major damage but the hate messages were worth it.

Me and my buddies used to piss ppl off in gta 5 online. We'd accomplish this through several methods like spawn killing our victims over and over again, using the God mode exploits, and some other ways.. my fave method of griefing players was forcing them to pay for our car insurance. Put C4 all over the windows of our cars (preferably the most expensive cars) and drive up slowly to a player in a group. First instinct would be for them to shoot the c4 resulting in them paying like 26k to 30k usd per car. Me and my friend would just group up and make that price go up to around 100k usd in a group explosion. Fun af. We'd target the same victim multiple times till they became more docile and not shoot our windows. When they do that we just squash them ahaha.

Rockstar eventually updated the game so the player placing the c4 has to pay for the insurance even if someone else caused it to explode . Lame af

There are other games that I played solely to piss ppl off but these three games are my fondest memories .

Can't vote as I do not play online games. Keeping myself to myself means I have 14 trouble free years on Xbox Live.

Seeing what goes on around online I am glad I am out of it.

lol I played a dude in BBTAG who must've been super new because I beat him just kept grabbing him with Kanji. First round I noticed he just mashed random buttons and didn't do DPs or supers or anything invincible, so I just did command grab > run up > grab > repeat. Until he was in the corner; then I just stood there menacingly and command grabbed him on wake up lol

I said no but this made me consider that yeah after a certain point it's just obnoxious and ruins games. Toxic outbursts every once in awhile are fine but if someone is seething from start to finish it just kills fun.

Not even ashamed to admit I fell for those command grab and wake up throws myself when street fighter 4 first dropped on the 360. Zangief was so dumb in vanilla street fighter 4, lol. I used to just panic because I didn't nail down on how to counter his crazy ass at first.

....then there was the sagat players. Oh god, vanilla street fighter 4 sagat, so much salt.

Screw it, I might see if I can get in on some street fighter 6 when that drops just because recording matches is so easy these days.
