A male pornstar has hit out at two former female porn stars calling them hypocritical after they expressed regret about getting into the industry. Speaking on an episode of the YouTube show No Jumper that was released in September, porn star Dredd discussed how Lana Rhoades and Mia Khalifa criticised the industry after they pivoted away from porn. Dredd explained: Im always surprised when a girl does that. I dont know what the motivation is in that, because thats what built you up. Thats what did it for you, thats what put you on the map. So to sit there and now go, Oh its bad. Oh, I wish I never did that, its kind of hypocritical. All that shit I dont think too highly of it. The shows host Adam22 then went on to claim that Rhoades might have just been another Instagram girl if it wasnt for her doing porn.

The male duo also discussed former porn star Mia Khalifa, who Dredd claimed was now disrespecting the industry. Dredd said: Thats another one who Ive seen and read things on her just totally disrespecting [the industry]. He continued: I always think its kind of f**ked up when they do that because its like, I got what I want out of it, now fuck them, you know? I dont even like to know people that have that kind of mindset. Host Adam suggested that the pair perhaps regret getting into porn just before apps like OF came around and allowed adult stars to make a lot of money. He said: Theyre girls who got into porn at the very tail end of porn before OF kicked off. So they did all this nasty ass shit, didnt make millions of dollars off it. Now theyre out here making six figures a month off OF or whatever, and theyre kind of like, Well why the fuck did I do that?.

Replace "Lana Rhoades" and "Mia Khalifa" with "Patreon" and "Tumblr", and nothing changes.

I'd understand if her continued livelihood wasn't entirely enabled by her porn fame, but it is.

It's mostly this. Like I would have no problem with them criticizing aspects of the industry and talking about things they would like to see changed about it, but all they've ever done is talk shit about it. Which is absurd since the only reason any one knows or cares about them is because of the industry.

I dont think the argument that they owe their careers to the porn industry holds water, specifically because the porn industry being horribly exploitative isnt what gave them the exposure they owe their current careers tothey could just as easily have the careers they have now if they hadnt had extremely negative experiences working in the industry.

If porn actors were given royalties in their contracts and compensated fairly for work they do that gets used in perpetuity, had a greater (or indeed any) ability to advocate for their own safety and well-being on set if all of those things existed and were part of the industry, actors like Mia and Lana would still in all likelihood have the same audiences they do today.

It's fine to regret decisions and all that, but from her comments Lana Rhoades seemed to not be mentally capable of even understanding what porn is.

They're allowed to feel regret over the things that put them on the map. I'm sure are plenty of people who later feel embarrassment over the thing that made them famous
