I don't entirely disagree. I'd argue it's mainly the shift from the Internet being more of a "Wild West" where anything goes and there are tons of places where individuals can produce various types of content to a more homogenized utility where everything mostly feels consolidated and transformed into something more mainstream. At least some of that might be because modern search engines are hot liquid ass-butter when it comes to finding stuff that isn't sponsored or on endorsed web sites, but part of it is just that a lot of the old school freeform content just isn't there anymore (and isn't an economically feasible model even if it is). A lot of it depends on exactly what sort of content you're looking for, though.
