Like on a small to medium scale?

I live in northern cali and theres so many vinyards here. Even houses that I'm looking at will have like 0.5 acre of vinyards attached to the property.

I was out at a local restaurant and saw this local winery with a meme name. I wanted to order it and the waitress said "yea its good, both these couples are drinking it now, they said its good". It made me realize people don't care about taste, they just want memes.

SO I'm thinking, why don't I start making meme wines....it'll sell.

The paperwork probably isn't worth it, until you're in the realm of 100 gallons.

That's a very crowded market to get into.

I looked it up

150 gallons => 1 ton of grapes
4 ton of grapes = 1 acre of grapes
There for 0.25 acre = 150 gallons

That is actually doable. I've seen alot of such properties around there.

This isn't meant to make a livable income. Its meant to be a hobby that has some financial benefit.

Yea I realize that. But I'm thinking maybe start out small and just try to sell to local grocery stores or restaurants.

You're gonna need to apply for a permit before you can even sell a single drop.

No. Its not. The market is way oversaturated. I live in an area whose wines are actually internationally recognized and is famous for its wine.

So so so so many people start growing wine grapes thinking they can sell em so easy but firstly most wineries grow their own grapes and secondly a fuckton of other people are already growing wine grapes to sell. Even in an area recognized for its wine so many people end up with grapes and no buyer.

You could have done it 15 years ago probly but now its the equivalent of having bought bitcoin for 60k as an investment.

You're allowed 200 gallons untaxed for "personal use" which can be fun by itself.
