I'm hyped as fuck. Gunn confirmed that this is required viewing for Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

This will be the end of Phase 4. Phase 5 will start with Secret Invasion/Quantumania.

Saw a spoiler on tiktok that apparently Mantis is Peters sister

I will say the guardians have gotten themselves a solid corner in the mcu

Guardians 1, guardians 2, infinity war, endgame, i am groot, holiday special

I think this was better

I'm gonna watch it tonight I think, and agreed with GotG establishing itself in a surprising way. I think a lot of people thought the first movie was gonna flop because it was a fairly unknown team.

Well, yeah I was satisfied with the length because it really is just like a Christmas TV special.

I did want a little more of Werewolf, but mainly because it was so well done and I felt a little more character development could have helped. But after watching Werewolf a second time (with my kids), I loved it even more as the development was sprinkled throughout.

So personally, I give the edge to Werewolf but they are going for very different things.

Really liked it. Very funny and heartfelt.

Also dropped some interesting things for the MCU. Mantis being Quills sister, Knowhere now being owned by the Guardians and the Collector lives!

Hamill cameo was great.

I have to say disney plus has been doing great things for characters i never cared for in the movies

Wanda, vision (though it wasnt really him), falcon, hawkeye and now mantis

MCU 2 for 2 with their "special presentations." This was really charming.

I'm glad Mantis was the star since she's the least developed Guardian and I liked seeing more sides of her personality here. She feels more like an actual character now and not just a plot device or an extra. And her and Peter's hug at the end was real heartwarming.

this was fantastic and wish we had more stuff like this in the MCU especially as feature length movies where not everything has to be about good vs bad and end in a big fight.

I loved that they thought Drax was Kratos.

This was absolutely amazing and a good departure from the usual. Just a nice little side story. Everybody was great and it felt like the movies.

I loved the "I don't know what Christmas is, but Christmas time is here" song.

Also, wtf @ buff Groot. I did not see that coming lol.

The complete lack of Gamora so far, including Thor, kind of stings. GotG 3 better due her absence some justice.

Liked it a lot, laughed a few times. Mantis was the highlight imo, love how Groot is in his fat before a growth spurt teenager phase, lol. I'll probably put this on my yearly December watch list.

This was pretty good. I laughed many times.

They bought Knowhere? Tivan must want to move far away from the bad memories of how much of his collection Thanos destroyed.

swole groot is the best version of groot, idk why but all of his I AM GROOT had me laughing

I finished watching this, and really enjoyed it.

Mantis and Drax's friendship is the most wholesome and ridiculous thing in the franchise, and it's much appreciated, lol.

Is it worth watching if I love GotG but have a strong hatred for Christmas specials?

Finally saw it with the wife we both enjoyed it.

What is it you hate about Christmas Specials?

I usually don't like them either, but I enjoyed this one. Probably helps that it's centered around the 2 most awkward Guardians who don't fully understand Christmas.

I didnt like it. The ending was good though.

I just hate Christmas in general but I'll probably check this out

Mantis and Drax have such a great dynamic

They took two characters who are phenomenal in small doses and gave them a half-movie.

That was grating.

I'm a little miffed they had Kevin Bacon's name in the opening credits. I know my parents hadn't seen the trailers and they obviously like him (because they were alive in the 80s) so I know they would've gotten a kick out of it.

Pratt clearly phoning it in. Couldn't get Rocket for more than a line or two.

I really hope that didn't count against their movie contract counts because that was a waste.

I liked it. Mantix and Drax are great together. I can't help to feel that this is the calm before the storm though. How lighthearted this is coupled with the fact that so many are saying GotG 3 is when they are hanging up the boots makes me feel the movie will have a sadder tone.

How can Love and Thunder be so painfully unfunny while this special is really funny?

I'm absolutely done with MCU Drax tbh. It's time to kill him off. Unceremoniously is preferred.
