10 years ago, you were looking at insane deals. 75% off sometimes.

Now the sales are pathetic. It's like 10% and 15% off now. It's just like any other sale, not the legendary Black Friday that I remember.

Capitalism. A long time ago there was some level of competition but then everything merged into ~8 giant megacorporations and they no longer had to compete. They also found out that people would buy whatever regardless of the sale so they just do whatever they want nowadays.

Also, 10 years ago was the time period when it was very much found out that stores were marking up their goods before the % so the price was the same. I don't think you want to be comparing now to then because at least we are somewhat consistent on actually getting a price drop nowadays compared to then.
