Again blame the owner not the dog. Everyone is always so quick to blame the dog and not the owner. I've had many pits and the only time they've run up on someone was because they wanted cuddles. Most of the "bad" pits you hear about have either been abused or untrained and that's definitely the fault of the owner. I've seen huskies and golden retrievers that were seriously more vicious then most other dogs.

nah, I just saw the video on World Star about a minute before making the topic, and knew I'd come off as that guy regardless for sharing it.

if it was another animal, I still would have shared it, but pits have a stigma, so it's not one of those things you can avoid.

See that right there is a stereotype. A husky could have easily killed that kid. Same for any other large breed dog. What about German shepards? Dobermans? Rotts? Dalmatians? All of those breeds are also pretty vicious yet none of them get as much hate as pits do.

Well trained dogs don't "go bad" including pits.

I've had dogs all my life (including pitbulls) and never once has one that I trained "gone bad" same for literally everyone I know who trained their dogs.

Because they're fucking dogs. You're their world and they do what you tell them to do or rather what you haven't told them is wrong.

Being mad at an untrained dog is one step removed from being mad at the oven because you didn't set the time on it.

The oven doesn't know what the time is, that's on you to tell it that.

And going "Well this oven can be exceptionally hot!" doesn't mean anything, it's still your fault.

if you think every family is doing some kind of training program for their dogs, i have unfortunate news for you: most dog owners don't do any particular training beyond housebreaking, and for better or worse, it's not going to change. and even "trained" dogs are going to be "bad" at one point or another. they're just dogs. at that point, you absolutely have to look at the breeds, not the owners
