If Argentina and Morocco win, it'll be the first WC final without an European team since 1950!

Sad thing is that will be Kane's entire career. He is one of the best strikers I've ever seen but he will never ever shake that off.

If you go by Group, here is the list:

Group A = ELIMINATED
Group B = ELIMINATED
Group C = Argentina
Group D = France
Group E = ELIMINATED
Group F = Morocco, Croatia
Group G = ELIMINATED
Group H = ELIMINATED

Hopefully Kane realizes that he's clearly isn't going to win anything at Spurs and leaves this summer. Bayern Munich are apparently interested in him, so he could go there for an easy trophy or two.

Next 4 years are going to be interesting as this will be when we slowly transition away from the likes of Walker, Henderson,Trippier, Kane, and probably Maguire, Stones and Sterling. Hopefully, with the experience the younger players have gotten since last year, here's hoping we finally win something for the men.

Australia plays in the Asian federation now, so they are likely counting them as Asia.

So was Sweden but the Uruguay Brazil match was a final in the sense that the others were out at that point.

Morocco vs France, there's some history there for sure.

I'm not a big soccer fan, but I'll never understand how professional players can sail the ball over the net like that so frequently. I understand they are trading power for accuracy, but you'd think they've spent hundreds of hours practicing power shots on the goal. I just can't comprehend it. I'd understand in high school sports and such, but these are the best players in the world.

If they miss low they hit the wall of players. Their window to score is very narrow.

Although I want Messi to end his career with a world cup under his belt, I'd feel quite good about any team other than France winning. Croatia has been chasing this for a long time, and imagine what it'd mean if Morocco won.

Mbappe and Messi is probably battling for both Golden Ball and Golden Shoe at this point (the latter also with Giroud). I'm at least expecting that if one of them makes the final, they'll receive the Ball. If both then who knows.

And if neither do, Luka Modric will probably win it unless they win another penalty kickout in the process.

Maybe, in the event that it will be Argentina and France, if one of Messi and Mbappe becomes a clear Golden Shoe winner in the semifinal they will award the other one the Golden Ball.

How often does someone not playing the final receive it? I remember Forlan in 10.

I understand most ref complains (from mostly any team these QF to tbh, but it's England's I'm seeing most), but I will say one thing. Kane was fouled outside the box, those pictures are clear as day.

Next world cup has 48 teams, so I'm trying to predict how many of each continent there will be.

This is the current continental math:

Europe: 13
South America: 4.5
North America: 3.5
Asia: 4.5
Africa: 5
Oceania: 0.5:
Host: 1

The halves are continents that have to do play-offs to decide if they get an extra country or not. For example, North America does a play-off with Oceania, and if they win, they get to send 4 countries while Oceania gets none, if they lose, they send 3 and Oceania sends 1.

So next world cup e have 48 teams. 3 are hosts (USA, Mexico and Canada), so the numbers above have to be multipled by 45/31 to get the ideal proportions, giving us:

Europe: 18.87
South America: 6.53
North America: 5.08
Asia: 6.53
Africa: 7.26
Oceania: 0.73
Host: 3

Now we have to round them. If we round them all up and down to the nearest half, we get 48, including the hosts. However, I feel like Oceania really gets the short end of the stick if they still have 0.5 after 16 countries are added. Also, North America already has 3 host countries, they can afford to lose a 0.5. So if we follow that ligic, we get:

Europe: 19
South America: 6.5
North America: 4.5
Asia: 6.5
Africa: 7.5
Oceania: 1
Host: 3

And we can always take that 0.5 from a different country each WC, depending on who is hosting, since WCs going forward are likely to have 2-3 hosts each. For example, if 3 European countries host in 2030, they get 18.5 slots instead of 19, while NA gets 5.

In any case, those numbers are painting a WC with A LOT of fodder.

I actually did feel a bit bad when he was crying. I don't like the man even a little bit, but I get why he was devastated. Still, I'm glad the man will never win the world cup. His behavior on and off the field has been pretty terrible over the years.

He's legit incapable of being happy for his teammates. I can't remember what game it was because this is many years back, but I remember a post game interview he had where he straight up said he should have taken the game winning shot instead of his teammate who made it and ensured a 1-0 win. His ego is so big that it's gravitational pull can be measured.

Morocco has lost a few of their key defensive players. I don't think they will survive the onslaught, especially if France scores early.

They beat England in the last 16 but yeah, could be lol.

Today is once again World Cup day.

I just saw a picture of the four goalkeepers left (that had bene on the pitch) and it really shows how crucial a role that is when three of them have had golden boot shootouts for crucial saves and penalty kick victories. I don't see Lloris as good as the others there, but he also have not been tested to the same degree this WC.

I'm obviously biased towards French National side, but I wouldn't include Theo Hernandez in a best XI from what's left. He's been good going forward, but he's been very suspect defensively and in the England game he could well have cost them the game.
I'd put in Griezmann somewhere because I think he's been France's second best player after Mbappe and has capitalised on all the space given to him due to the attention Mbappe and Giroud draw.
I'd put one of Brozovic or De Paul in the main lineup. I favour De Paul over MacAllister as among the Argentina midfielders putting in a shift to let Messi do whatever he wants.

Though weirdly it's Enzo Fernandez the one Liverpool are linked with hard.

De Paul, Fernandez, MacAllister and Paredes.

Scaloni wants to lull everyone to sleep before the trademark moment of magic.
