Starting off, he is a real mamas boy. He like for his mom to hold him all day long. If she puts him down for a second, he starts getting fussy and whiny.

As per usual, his mama was holding him and playing with his Squishmallows with him until she needed to go make dinner. So she passes him off to me. Crybaby time starts.

He is whining and fluffing and puffing, until this show called Donkey Hodie came on the TV. All of the sudden he stops the fussing and becomes as quiet as the grave, just staring at this dumb ass puppet show. They are these hand puppets of animals that go on these adventures and help each other out (standard baby show kinda stuff). The main character is this Donkey girl puppet (might be based on AOC, its hard to tell) and her grandpa with his steel guitar.

For whatever reason, he is hooked on this show. Apparently a lot of babies are. Its like brain washing.

Any other CE parents know about this show? Is this some Candle Cove kinda thing where they see something we dont?

I bet he would totally love that. They look a lot like his squishys so he would probably think they were the same thing.

He also loves the show Bluey about these talking dogs. His cousin is a few years older and loves it too. Its a cute show.

Sucks i can never watch my shows when im on baby duty. He hates anime (probably because its too loud and dark for his tastes) and live action shows are a no go. He wont even sit still through an episode of MASH.

Mine is turning 15 months and is pretty whiny and clingy especially when the mom is around. I take care of him most of the time since she works M-F 8-5 though so he is okay with me.
But he hates going to other people he doesn't see regularly.

We would have to sneak off when he is with my family just so he isnt looking for us the whole time we are there.

I work while mama takes care of the baby all day. My older kid is a teenager and doesnt need the babysitting. So baby is around mama like 24/7.

Except when its nap time. His room is a nap lovers paradise. His little baby bed is so soft and warm, combined with a nice breeze from a fan and his light projector (it cycles from a wave like pattern to color changing stars on the ceiling. Its like a planetarium display).

Im stuck napping with his twiggy mama who likes to hates when i turn my fan on >_> some times i just go to one of the guest rooms and freeze the room out so i can get my nap on.

Yeah babies can be so whiny and clingy lol.

Mine is obsessed with coco melon.

I see my nieces and nephews a few times a week, girls are younger and like stuff like Bluey which is pretty tolerable. Nephews I just put on old 90s X-Men or TMNT and they are enthralled.

Try some stuff that may not be awful for you to sit through and maybe something will click that's less annoying.

I love the ever loving fuck out of my kids but they are still children and children suck. That's why being a good parent is important because you turn them into decent human being if you're successful. You aren't born with the ability to regulate your emotions, you aren't born with the understanding of what is socially acceptable. These are things that need to be taught and learned through good parenting and until they understand these things they are going to behave like children.

My children are absolutely frustrating each and every single day. Without fail.

As a parent, your most important job aside from making sure they are well fed, well cared for and reach their 18th birthday is teaching them how to navigate social situations. Part of this is that they launch a brute force attack on you each and every day, in different ways. My 5 year old son has recently been trying out lying, which has been interesting.

That said, as incredibly frustrating, tiring and mind-numbingly horrifying dealing with their behaviour is sometimes, I wouldn't give it up for the world. At the very least, watching these new minds learn how to exist in their environment and in society is incredible. My daughter's reading and maths abilities are coming along at a breath-taking pace, and my son is obsessed with Godzilla.

My brother has kids [4, 18 months, and 7 months] and I watch them almost every single weekend, and I'm around them during the week. Never have I ever talked about them like TC has done their own child. I have had zero issues in the 4 years. Then during the week I work with kids at a school.

Some people just shouldn't be around kids, and TC is one of them. Sounds like it's more than just TC, too

Same here, except by "my son", I mean it was "me".

Kids can be frustrating, but I wouldn't trade my sister's for the world.

I don't have kids but I babysit my younger nieces and nephews a bit. When they're all fussy I just put on some old shows from the 90s. Like Bananas in Pyjamas, Barney, Babar, Rugrats. At least stuff I could find tolerable for hours. Shuts them right up. Until they start the singing.....

Havent seen that show. My daughter loves the simple songs on Amazon and theyve actually been teaching her shit its crazy.

How is it not the same? My brother is like the people in here - easily frustrated with children. I'm don't get frustrated, I've been dealing with kids most of my life now. From watching my brother when he was younger [8 years younger than me], the younger siblings of my friends, the kids of some of my adult friends, and like I said, working at a school for the past 8 years. I have zero issues with kids doing kid things. I'm really, really good with kids

Like, most adults think issues like a painted wall, or making sure all the laundry is folded is more important than interacting with their kids. Let's take my oldest nephew as an example - When he comes over for me to watch we color pictures, we hide toys and the other has to go find them, we watch Avatar and talk about what we're watching, he likes to see if his toys sink and float in the water, he likes to swing on the swing, ect. When he's with his parents, they don't do that stuff with him. While he colors his pictures, they sit on their phone. They will only play hide and seek a couple times before they tell him they have other things to do. He watches movies by himself, without anyone enjoying them with him because they're doing other things. And they don't let him play in the water because he might get things wet.

My entire goal is to make sure they grow up with good memories. Parents like TC are only focused on themself

I showed him the fruits and he LOVES it. I just play it on my phone and put it into baby mode so he can grab at the screen and he goes HAM on those fruits.
