New Leaf kind of burned me out of Animal Crossing even if I haven't played it since 2014, so I opted to completely skip New Horizons.

Wild World got it down. New Leaf and after turned it into a customisation game instead of a life simulator. It went from being about picking apples and talking to bears to, you know, as I write this, new leaf was actually alright, it's New Horizons where it really went downhill in this regard.
