So, I was offered a job as a technical writer for a big corporation in January 2022. I turned it down to spend what little time I had left with my grandma and father who both have terminal cancer and got worse throughout the hiring process (grandmother died in July; father is still alive but getting worse).

I kept in contact with the recruiter throughout the year. She emails me on November 5 and tells me there is a technical writer position opening again. She sends me the link to apply. I apply and she emails me back within 30 minutes and asks me when I'm available for an interview. This was a Friday. She sets me up for an interview for Monday.

I interview with the same people that offered me the job last time. Really good conversation. Even said, "this is really a formality since we did offer you this position before, and we'll be in touch."

They switched recruiters during this process and the new recruiter didn't know I had interviewed. She eventually tells me they won't be making a hiring decision until January (which is fine; I knew they were on a hiring freeze anyway).

But I see a lot of the technical writers and the team lead looking at my LinkedIn right after I interviewed.

The team lead shared the position posting on LinkedIn yesterday, and I've never met this person.

So now, I'm extremely nervous that I'm not gonna be made an offer this time.

I'm a teacher and I'm on PTO right now, and I fucking hate teaching and I really like these people and this company.

I have a really bad anxiety disorder so now I'm just waiting and being anxious until I hear from them in January.

I'll be disappointed if I'm not offered the job again, especially since they already told me it was a formality.

Ugh. I hate everything.

Anyone got any advice?

Well, that's the thing. I haven't even been told if they'll interview me again since they still have all the notes and information about me previously.
