It really is a classic-style RPG, almost indistinguishable from the classics sometimes, outside of the indie art.

I'm nearing the end-game, but going tot tackle the superboss first. The gameplay is also a bit jank like the classics, with a few funny bugs as well.

Oh yeh bugs, Ive had 3. One time battle music stopped, another where 2 front party members sprites were gone , even in battle, only fix was close and start game. And my recent kinda same as last but turn order bar disappeared, same solution.

As long as its not gamebreaking bugs its not bad considering one guy made it p much.

Yup. The most impressive part is that it was mostly a single guy doing the coding, sprite work aside from some backgrounds, and writing in a span of 7 years just because he wanted to create a love letter to the snes and psx era jrpgs as he remembers them. Is Sienna the best party member? Once you get her agility and crit chance buffed up she becomes a one lady-army being able to dance around enemies and her multi-hit ability is nasty.

I finally got around to playing this. About an hour and a halfish in and I'm liking it a lot. Gonna have to try and figure out how to juggle this, GoWR, Pokmon, and Splatoon 3 lol

I've been excited for this one since it's by the The Messenger devs. It even takes place in the same universe iirc since these main characters have some relation to that water temple or whatever in The Messenger. Not sure how the actual game will be but I have high hopes for it at least.

Sea of Stars doesn't really grab me from what I've seen, then again I never even heard of Chained Echoes till the day it came out and decided to just give it a go. I would be more interested to see what Eiyuden Chronicles turns out to be. One of the most hyped rpg kickstarters and is the spiritual successor to Suikoden.

I was using Egyl's cover so she wouldn't lose her shadowstep buff which raises her agility by 75%. With all these buffs she could act multiple times and dragonfang was causing over 1k+ in damage per round.

I recently got her and she is stronger hitting than most of my others, I really like her.

Also just got all the extra sky armors, there's 3 you can get aside from the default ones. Two are Seraph class armors. The one with wings comes from a side quest and you need 50k, it's the two winged angel side quest. The anubis looking one you have to find in the shambhala dungeon in a section where you can drop off a platform, it's in the area with the gorillas. It starts off as a tier 3 armor but you can upgrade it before the final boss by acquiring the elevator key for the Raminas tower in the final dungeon and finding a secret merchant that sells you the soul required for the upgrade.

I was in absolute love with the 50k Seraph sky armor. It looked so cool.

I don't think there's a way to ever actually keep your tokens, it's just a for laughs thing.

That's what it felt like, but I swear someone said they got a ring in that part of the game. May they were just kidding around *shrugs* I know there were minor differences early on with some of the choices made in the game.

Never had an issue with it, I like that it makes battles more than the same skills over and over even its still there.

You get items to decrease the gauge. It may also be a sign that you didn't diversify the skills in your team.

The times I get annoyed by overdrive are when there are certain fights where the enemy pushes the gauge too far by themselves.

Are you not switching out your characters? Cuz that lowers the gauge as well. And if you don't have a character that has a move type needed to lower the gauge then you're doing something wrong tbh.

I'm constantly switching out especially when characters are low on JP and I'm not confident they'll survive the next turn. Even switching is just going out of overheat just to have to defend. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if getting hit didn't also increase it.

I think you should just try to not get yourself so deep into that point where you are stuck in or real close to overheat. (I know this can still happen to me when I get into a zone or sometimes just need a heal instead of say defend).

You may have not gotten it yet but Glenn learns a skill called restrain it lowers the heat bar and if you use it while it's the desired skill oh man that bar goes so far to the left.

It's definitely not RNG based. Characters learn more skills and it's easier to pick kits that have a variation. You can find/buy items that lowers the drive of the type you need. There are skills that lower the drive. Switching and defending lowers the drive. Doing an Ultra move nukes the bar, too. You just can't ignore it or wait until it's a breath away from overheat.
