I'm not denying he could be scum. To me it just feels like more of a crap shoot atm and I have a few options I'm a bit more confident about.

I refuse to dismiss him as town though. But like there's still time left in the day to explore other options. I think the wagon lost its firepower to L1 him.

You're right. it's not great.

But like it's not going to stop me from pursuing active players that I find scummy. But now I'm less reluctant to use a get out of jail free card on a low poster if that's how the B8 meta has molded itself.

I think Lea has been championing anyone who makes an argument and a vote. Very opportunistic and looking to look good.

Han is a bit more nuanced. He interacted with me first this game and put pressure my way a bit too. I didn't back down and give him any satisfaction he ultimately did give me the confidence he knows I'm town and this means it's a Han scum game. He still has the opportunity to prove me wrong.

SBell pops me (the one who started having ANYTHING happen this game), Lea (Town Princess), and Marth onto a list.

Then he proceeds to toss a vote onto the least established (read: lowest fruit) of the list.

It reads as SBell having no stones. Even now, he's begging MZero to be his buddy instead of doing anything on his own.

Marth has been picking up the pace this morning, but when SBell posted his list, it reminded me of "SBell is SK mafia" a bit, in that it was just what I could consider to be a pretty bad list.

In other news, I find all of the people defending and attacking Corrik so far to be utterly adorable. It is fascinating to see how people will analyze and defend/attack somebody for just not being here.

I think MZero hasn't really reached the level of activity he displayed as Town in last game.

Ben, is there a point today where you will actually provide anything?

I mean sure, I'll just explain exactly what I was doing. I assumed it was clear but apparently not since it's got you confused. I was on vacation with my family, so not good form to be on my phone. But then there are times where you're waiting for everyone to get dressed, or everyone is in the bathroom, or you're in the bathroom. Or, as I was last night, lying in bed not going to sleep like I should be. It's not been very difficult to catch up because there's only one topic. And last night I also knew I'm gonna be driving home or just getting home right before deadline, so I was thinking about that. You said you like a sheep over a rock. At the same time I wanted to make a post expressing that i town read you. And i thought, "Yeah I'll just vote with Lea if I can't be here at dead line and I'm not caught up at all".

Now, theres always the stipulation that I have to actually agree with the lynch before I sheep even someone like Chris. But, we'll get there when we get there, if we get there.

And before you ask, we're stopped for lunch right now. I've been trying to not be total dead weight here so that i at least have a grasp of the game going into day 2. Scum me could have gotten away with just not posting at all, like I said I was going to.

I don't have a better option. My feelings on Corrik are complicated because I agree with Sbell's assessment (or did he agree with me? Hard to say), but I also agree with Lopen's counter argument that he adapts. Corrik is the best scum player I know. Also wouldn't ever kill him day 1 unless he botched his claim on day 1. Give him a chance to post. Where I'm at he still hasn't shown up

Lopen Ill apologize because I went back and reread your posts and I did in fact misread 168 the way that you pointed out. Somehow my stoned brain managed to entirely miss the plum will self-destruct implication and in effect I can see why it looked like I was cherry picking. Not my intention.

After having just read Bens post Im inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt with respect to Leas reasoning. Yesterday I was at a board game hangout with friends all day but was skimming the topic in passing. Could I have chimed in with idle comments? Yes. Could I actually contributed at that point in time? No.

Friends how does one actually read MZero? In PSW and Eff 2021 I thought he was lurky and/or tunnelling scum and was only right one of those times. I feel like Im headed down that path again. We also established that MZero is self aware that scum MZero is inactive which makes it dangerous to read into his activity alone. Am I destined to just think hes scum every game and then any degree of correctness is just dumb luck?

Han with respect to SBell lacking conviction, I feel like hes been more forward with opinions this game than last. In Eff 2021 mafia he was around and just asked all these little gotcha questions without actually offering thoughts on the situation as a whole. I feel like hes actually had some commentary with his questions this game (like when he was pressuring red on his corrik vote) which feels distinctly different.

Im taking that with a grain of salt because SBell is certainly a good enough player to know not to replicate the same scum performance but I see a bit more conviction than last game at least.

I don't disagree with that assessment, but the content of his actions still reads as being odd to me.

Frankly, though, I think the Marth vote could be explained by Marth having been around at the time and sometimes players only pay attention to who's around (ergo, Scum wins by inactivity).

If SBell is Town, then what he did was give what I consider to be an odd trio, and then went after the person least active in the community recently. And I'm going to push him on that because it doesn't quite sit well.

Why do you have a slightly town read on Isquen, when the only posts of his has been in the "joke" phase on page two?

Why did you have a town read on JC, when his first "substantial" (to me) post was Post #339?

I feel weird about Lopen. Part of me feels that his "play nice" attitude is a nice handwave/excuse to hide being scum when his known town play (at least as told to me, and from what I experienced) is more.

Ben already commented, so I won't mention it too much - but I was thinking along the same lines of why would scum Ben post at all if he didn't need to/already had the excuse.

Anyway, I would LOVE to get Isquen in here...

Thats fair Han. Im not sure I followed the second paragraph fully though? In any case it brought my brain to a place where Im wondering why he only suspects active people, which may have been part of what youre getting at.

Hmm Im also remembering last game where scum SBell claimed town SBell doesnt scumhunt, but rather town clears. This seems more like the former than the latter which seems strange. Another grain of salt though because I cant know how much of SBells commentary on townclearing was scum lying to defend his avoidance of taking positions vs scum identifying their town play and trying to emulate it.

In any case if its actually his town playstyle, I dont think hes doing it here.

I think that's why SBell's list and vote bothered me so much.

Out of all the people on Corrik, he picked the three who have done the most, leaving relatively lifeless Red and "People do things but I don't know what it means" Plum off the list. He then voted the one who, iirc, was posting the most before his vote.

It almost feels like he's hunting activity.
