Cringe writing aside (I actually didnt mind the writing though, besides Yellow feeling more like a plot device than a full-fledged character, and Violet feeling like a caricature of a caricature at the end of her arc), the gameplay and level design just feel immaculate. It kinda caters to this interest of speedrunning I have but never fully indulge in because it takes a lot of time Id rather dedicate to other things instead of a singular game, and gives tangible rewards for learning the game and levels (the medal ranks encouraging you to improve and giving you the tools to see what to do).

Yesterday I finally got the last achievement; it is like the 3rd game Ive done this for on Steam (and the other 2 were easy; it actually took a lot of effort in this game). Which means Ive done all of the levels in a row, DEATHLESS. I love this game that much.

I am loving the main game, including getting platinums and all the gifts.

But some of those sidequests seem more torture than fun

Well I mean Violets levels are literally covered in spikes lol I didnt think the other two had hard levels though.

Yeah, it is Violet's specifically. I am NOT enjoying them and I think I won't try anymore.

I just did the first boss level, and that was fun. Missed platinum by 3 seconds. Is it worth redoing for platinum for any reason? I still got the rank for gold. I have platinumed every standard stage up until this point.

It is actually possible to beat Green before the last phase. Shoot him when his shield is down in between phases - if you do enough damage he will die before his last phase. Same can be done on his second boss fight but it is harder. Getting Ace levels on every level, I am not sure if you need them for 100% (and the good ending) but one of the level rushes is locked behind all Ace medals - basically all story levels in a row, except all of the cards are replaced with Dominion (a card you havent seen yet so I wont spoil what it does).

Second and third. I almost did the second but simply got sick of hitting my head on spikes near the end of the level.

The second level has gaps in the ceiling you can use to avoid killing yourself when you use Elevate. Also make sure to shoot the balloon demon when you have Godspeed, otherwise youll impale yourself crossing the gap.

On the 3rd level, you can actually skip the last half of the level by bonking your head on the glass panel by the insight crystal, and landing on the fence (dont replicate the first part of the level because its hard and not the dev-intended way):

Grim Dawn kinda feels that way to me, Alpha. It's got loot filters, auto sort, interesting low tier gear, fun skills that you can assign to a hot bar, etc. all things I REALLY miss when I go back to Diablo 2.

But I still am coming back to the fact that it simply isn't fun for me like at all.

I love the main levels though.

The only Violet level I dont really enjoy is her last one, because the optimal level strat requires a perfectly angled coyote jump at the levels start in order to skip half of the level. The rest of them are cool because you can squeeze out a lot of optimizations out of them without them being too onerous. Oh I lied, level 4 is kinda boring too because it just tests if you can count to 11, 12, and 13. The achievement you get for failing at the end is funny though.

I used to like this game a lot more, and it is the first Steam game I got all achievements in. 2 felt like it executed the gameplay better, but nothing does Metroidvania better for me than Metroid itself though

Only started this franchise a couple years back, and it pulled me in like no other RPG series has done before.

Dmc 3 se ubisoft port w/ styleswitch, weaponswitch, and inertia mod.

Feels real nice to play. Every attack comes out quickly in the air. Doesnt have floaty gravity. Dted enemies drop like rocks so juggling them requires a lot of mashing.Pretty simplistic compared to its successors. Compliments my low creativity and super button mashy juggling style.

I think I felt that way when Batman: Arkham Asylum came out.

I really dug the: combat, stealth, puzzles, and overall portrayal of the characters and game world.

I pretty much beat the game in a sitting, iirc.

Im not really into DC and I know the it really makes you feel like Batman thing gets memed to death but I kinda felt that from the stealth takedowns you could do in that game

To a degree dissidia. As a kid I wanted a fighting game that had Characters like cloud and link fight. When dissidia released I knew it was the closest I'd get most likely.

I'd still die a happy man if they ported dissidia to a Nintendo console and had link as a guest character

Witcher 3 for me. A badass dude roaming around banging a bunch of chicks and fighting monsters for a living and dismembering thugs was such an amazing experience.

Child me never imagined that Mario's dinosaur buddy would get his own game or that Bowser would turn into Godzilla in the final battle. The gameplay, music, and visuals are all top notch as well.

Enter the Gungeon resonated with me on every level for sure. Id also include Kingdom Hearts as well; as a kid I loved crossovers and that was right up my alley
