Trying to capitalize on this Steam sale before it ends but it feels impossible to find what I want anymore

Baldurs Gate 3

Payday 2 has a steep and dumb learning curve but before a certain few patches, this game hard carried me through 2019 and 2020. It was fun.

Have Payday 2, never really got into it though and idk if the others would like it (they're not really shooty guys, I play them but I also play a lot of genres. They play them sometimes tho). Also Payday 3 was just announced I think, legit saw it on Twitter

Borderlands 2

Payday 2's been brutally nerfing fun items to push you toward new DLC items which have the same so-called overpowered attributes, sometimes more. It's also infested with cheaters and another group of cheaters we arbitrarily agree to call modders, which are left untouched by these patches.
That's the mindset making Payday 3. I wouldn't trust them anymore.

If you were new to Payday 2 and the wonderment was still intact though, I still think there's a lot of fun to be had and pretty crazy amount of variety. Bank Heist Gold in stealth on normal and Henry's Rock on DSOD don't even feel like the same video game. If it's any inspiration,I routinely played with a guy who never touched the run-around-shoot stuff but was a fucking freak at stealth levels.

It's essentially a rogue-like restaurant sim. You start with one item on your menu. Every three days, you choose between two cards that modify the restaurant in some way.

• You can complicate your main course by giving customers more options to pick from (instead of just cheese pizza, they can order mushroom or onion).
• You can add sides which have to be served alongside the main course.
• You can add a starter soup course which you can then further complicate by increasing the number of soups they can pick from.
• You can add a dessert course which you can then further complicate by increasing the number of dessert options.
• You can add modifiers to various things. For instance, you can make all processes 20% slower, make food burn 100% faster, make customers take longer to eat, force players to walk slowly when near customers, etc.

While the cards complicate the gameplay, some of them also decrease the amount of guests you need to serve each day which is crucial because if one - just one - person runs out of patience, it's game over.

At the end of each day, you get a group of items that you can purchase and place in your restaurant. You can buy extra counters, sinks, ovens, etc. Some of these items allow you to automate your restaurant to an extent. For instance, customers will "take" items off a conveyer belt if it's adjacent to their table, so you can automate serving. This can actually get pretty intense to where no one actually has to play the game lol:

After six days, you get what's called a decoration day. You pick a theme for your restaurant such a fine dining or fast food. Instead of normal items, decoration days give you items worth 1-3 points towards your theme. Get enough points, you get a buff. Fine dining, for instance, increases the patience of guests waiting outside by 30% if you have three points.

The game is won at fifteen days, but there's the option to go into "overtime" where you just keep playing until there's inevitably too many customers to possibly serve. If you win, you get the option to "franchise" a restaurant which is essentially a new game + for that run. You pick a few cards to start off the next playthrough and one franchise card that gives you some sort of buff (you earn more money, items cost less, etc) at the cost of increasing your customers by 30%.

I don't know why I summed up this entire game like this, but I ain't deleting it.
