The part that didn't make sense to me is how the McFly children including Marty are disappearing one by one as evidenced by the photograph throughout the movie. This is supposedly happening because Marty inadvertently prevented his parents' original meeting. This is wrong. When Marty traveled back to 1955, that 1955 is his new future, and his former present in 1985 became his past, which cannot be altered by the events in his new future in 1955.

It actually made a lot of money though.

In fact I would call most things that are not perfect flawed.

You might as well ask why the kids would disappear one by one instead of all at once.

Why is Marty the last to disappear even though he's the youngest? Shouldn't he be the first to go?

The time line is doing a cleaning pass from start to finish, and as the youngest he will be the last one to get removed.

OK I will seriously attempt this.

The sperm that leads to Marty is the last to be created so technically has a higher chance of still getting into Lorraine somehow despite changes to history. Sort of a well you missed your exit but theres another down the road yet situation.

In time travel movies they never go back to a recent time like yesterday. And if they did theyd have to come up with rules for running into yourself.....

I saw it once. Don't really remember too much about it. I think I saw parts 2 and 3, Part three was in the Wild West, don't really remember anything about part 2.

Bill & Ted did.

One of the Harry Potter films involved time travel to about ten minutes ago.

Part 1 is Marty in 1955 (he is from 1985) and he helps his parents meet and begin a relationship

Part 2 is the craziest of the trilogy. He visits 2015, which is much more interesting than the real 2015 we got. He goes back to 1955 also. And he goes to alternate timeline version of 1985 caused by a villain changing history.

Part 3 he goes to 1855 or 1885. I can't remember which but he fights cowboys and sees the early days of his town when it was founded

Part 2 has aged so bad. It has a bunch of shit we don't have while simultaneously that shit looks like stuff that's so outdated we wouldn't even bother to make it anyways

They should have gone much further in time to prevent this. When part 2 was made, 2015 was very far away. But then time caught up to us

Part 2 should have been in 2055 at least, or further

Like Angry Video Game Nerd once said about stuff predicting the future

Doc: Marty, what are these Bit coins?

The only accuracy was the gun violence and Biffs Trump like qualities.

Part 2 is still fun to watch. It's not like people were sitting in theaters in 1989 and thinking "I enjoyed that movie because it appeared to be an accurate prediction of how the world is going to be in 26 years".

Setting it in 2055 wouldn't have made sense with the plot of the movie, and making the future more realistic would have robbed the movie of its charm.
