It's sad to know you live in a country with so many fascist chuds who worship their chud king as a god.

Basically Bolsonaro's government was awful, with huge unemployment numbers, covid denial, vaccine denial (the vaccine was delayed for like 7+ months bc of his bullshit), he took apart and weakened every social security program and public institution, public education tanked during his tenure and of course, he took apart the agencies that protected indigenous people and the amazon so his agribusiness supporters could profit from its destruction.

The average bolsonazi supporter hates LGBT people, worships Bolsonazi as a god (everyone who dislikes him is a "commie"), is completely braindead, believing absurd conspiracies and fake news, blames everything on "commies", hates science. They love his fascist "for family and god" slogans and doing anything that might "own the libs".

A lot of them are evangelical nuts or profit from the destruction of the amazon, and many of those terrorists that have invaded congress are being bankrolled by pro-bolsonazi businessmen who loved how bolsonaro weakened workers rights.

My wife is from Recife. We have been watching on Globo today and it seems more sad than anything. It isnt even clear what they are trying to do.

damn, i wasn't aware of that about the Amazon. that has global consequences. as an American, i don't think any of the short-sighted and regressive shit Trump did, as bad as some of it was, had consequences like that will have.

stay strong, stay safe, batten down the hatches. we weathered the MAGA storm here and from the reports of the swift arrests and detentions of the rioters in your neck of the woods, i think you guys will too.

I'm right there with you, and things may look tough, but please consider that these fascist assholes may be a very loud minority (even if it's a slim minority) and a lot of them got to face immediate consequences for their acts, with more on the way. The protest yesterday was a huge self-own to the bolsonazis in my opinion. They fucked up bad. Lula is owning it and will kick their asses, and will be applauded for doing so.

Unfortunately it's true that Mr Pockets left a long-lasting political legacy that will not go away easily, but we'll have to keep fighting his supporters and hope that the current government is a good one

Man, Bolsonaro and Trump's base sound very similar, only there's not a giant swath of rainforest for Trump to burn for farming.

That's pretty much exactly what we're dealing with in the US with Trump's cult. Hopefully Brazil arrests people faster than we're doing. The FBI is still looking for hundreds of people and it has been over two years.
