Growing up, for my family, we often had turkey bacon as a substitute for real (aka pork) bacon, as neither my mother nor step-father ate pork at the time. However, recently I saw a cooking video on YouTube where they made a burger using beef bacon, and I looked it up and it does indeed appear to be an actual food (I mean, why not, right). Beef tends to be my favorite type of meat, so making bacon out of it sounds like it would be pretty good. Unfortunately, in the country I currently live in, I doubt itd be easy to find. And my kitchen is small and fairly unequipped for me to attempt making it at home.

so how about you? Have you tried it? Did you love it? Hate it? Let me know!

This topic made me look into what defines bacon. Apparently beef bacon doesn't even have to come from the belly.

Idk how close you are to any ranchers, but you could always look into striking up a deal with some cattle ranchers and buy a share of the beef when they go to slaughter. Not the ones that own like 600+ head and all that, they're going to be commercially partnered most likely.

I had it once when covid lockdowns first happened and everyone panic bought all the bacon and only beef bacon was left.

Best way I can describe it is "beef jerky cooked in a pan instead of dehydrated". Not fatty enough to be as flavorful as bacon and it cooks way slower, probably will never try it again. I think the problem is that pork fat renders way differently then beef fat, so you can't really do bacon with it in the way we think of bacon, so you basically are just making "juicy jerky".
