Oh yes, they've been spoonfed the 'silent majority' bullshit for so long that it's an indelible factor in how they view the world around them. My dad believes that the vast majority of Americans supported Trump's wall, and it was just a handful of uppity Democrats that torpedoed it (with the doubly-incorrect assumption of that somehow being how Congress works).

Yeah he's been like that for a while. Like I said I don't Trust him, he would use the Superbowl show to spread his beliefs.
