Sold this dude a Switch game a few weeks ago. Paid via cash app.

He decided to dispute the charge today, and theres nothing I can do to reverse it.

Cash app and my bank told me to pound salt.

go get the game back

He came to my work to pick it up.

trust me, Id be kicking down his door otherwise.

Its only $30, but its the principle. This mf just stole from me.

If I dont know the person, PayPal goods & services is the only online payment I accept.

that sucks TC. yeah its a common scam.

I'd only accept cash for my used goods.

Im glad I learned this lesson with a cheap game, and not something worth more.

but then again i guess paypal/ebay will always side with the customer

Why accept digital payment if you met face-to-face? $30 isn't a huge sum that he couldn't be carrying around

Report him to whatever marketplace you used to arrange the sale.

If anything, accept $5 digitally to hold the item, and $30 cash on receipt of item, with the $5 getting sent back digitally.

he didnt mention cash app until he got here.

and he took busses to get here, so I wasnt going to make a big deal about it at the time. Money is money, I thought.

So I guess he was just a scammer. What an asshole. Sorry you have to deal with that.

That sucks! Cash or paypal friends and family are better options to protect you from scammers.

I never use those. I take cash only for private sales and I ghost anyone who tries to do a cash app or anything like that and I never make a listing without specifying cash only, no trades and say that I wont ship it.

There are too many scammers out there to risk getting digitally robbed for me to trust a cash app for anyone that I dont know in person. I think Craigslist even says not to take those.

You shouldnt even be able to dispute on those apps. They are supposed to operate like cash transactions

Yeah, never use any of that crap. Just take cash.

Damn that sucks. I'll learn from your mistake thanks for letting people know. I usually pay my bro through paypal and I think even then they take a cut.

I imagine it's similar shit for zelle and anyone paying by credit card.

I sold some some kayaks recently, got cash, but if I didnt, Id be worried they could pull the money at any point
