Yeah, Austin Creed was one of the biggest gets they could have, but there are no major personalities they could hire that could have salvaged it. Nobody was going to tune in to a video game TV channel in 2022 (and that was already oversaturated on YouTube).

They hired Xavier Woods because of corporate synergy. Comcast/NBC owned G4 in addition to the current television rights to Raw and possibly owning the entirety of WWE itself by the end of the year.

Ironically they had more engagement and new viewers when Xavier took some time off and they had a rotation of AEW wrestlers showing up for bits.

No one is outraged at her that they're bringing her up for attention.

She's literally a current event who made an attention post and she's getting what she wants

I don't think it's relevant whether or not it's fair. It's how the internet works. You do a big goof, whether you think of it as such or not. If you insist on staying in the public eye after that, that's what you're gonna be known for and going to be reminded of.

This is simply the sympathetic vs. the unsympathetic lol. Which, it's fine. Im not being convinced into having such a cold attitude towards other humans tho. I just think about being in their situation with only the one life we're given. Seems crummy to have one thing follow you like that.

Plus, I feel like on a strategic level, you're just setting yourself up to hate and blame yourself for anything society forces on you for your mistakes. Like, if you ended up in her position, you'd be taking on all the constant harassment from people not letting you just live while also blaming yourself for it by not immediately understanding what your doing might get backlash. Seems unfair to you. You can take some the blame and also acknowledge the response was disproportionate. It's not like a computer is generating all respinse to be equal. I don't think she is wrong but I do think there is a time and place and she was too focused on the sexism that was going on. Sexism is a societal problem that no one individual or company can really do anything about except mitigate it. It also extends much further than just gamers; which she will probably see in other industries.

Why were they losing viewer though? IMO, she used sexism as an excuse to why nobody was watching. Her, constantly telling Trump supporters to not watch the channel, telling people if they don't like what she was saying to just not watch. Admitting that she doesn't even play the games that she reviews and saying the reason why Olivia Munn was hired wasn't to be eye candy. Which is blatantly false. That was the main reason she was hired in the first place. She was a cancer that should have been fired first but instead, she was one of the last ones fired.

Opinionated discourse and boycotts rarely affect sales and interest in a product. If anything, the rant gave it the most attention it ever had - for better or worse. But even then, it was one Comcast's least watched channels, and videos on YT rarely broke 1k views.

If all these people that insist on dragging Frosk's name through the mud or dissecting her Tweets actually watched Attack of the Show or X-Play, watched the G4 YT channel, or actually just discussed the channel on its own merits then they'd still have a G4.

I agree that the idea of G4 dying because of her justified rant is completely fucking braindead. That two minute video got more attention than every single other thing they did combined.

I feel like men don't really comprehend what it would feel like to be a woman in the gaming industry. White males specifically are the only ones in gaming that can enjoy it without being personally attacked anytime someone finds out they're not a white male. Im actually surprised at how stoic most women and non white people are in gaming. Constantly being called slurs or sexually harassed and keep pushin. That shit wears on you when any time you try to enjoy a favorite hobby with other people, you're just reminded that the majority of people in that hobby just want you to feel like shit and leave. They only see you as the N word or the B word and anything you say will just be flipped into you confirming that's what you are, because you're outnumbered.

So, when a women finally gets a voice on a big enough platform, it's so insane to me to just be like "Aw, here she goes talking about how women are constantly mistreated in the gaming world. Just shut up and talk about games only bitch."
