Congrats on your discoveries, TC.

As a Cis guy I can never truly relate to what that experience is, but I've tried to approximate it by asking myself "how would I feel if I was being pressured to dress/ present as a girl?"

I imagine I would definitely feel awkward and uncomfortable, even if everyone around me told me that's how I'm supposed to look. I'd probably feel like I'm being constantly gaslit.

So if that's even remotely close to how a trans person feels every day, I can imagine how it causes feelings of anxiety, depression, and dissociation when they're pressured to present as their assigned gender.

The thing is, you don't really know it's your gender that's the problem. In fact, you're kind of lucky if you finally figure it out. Most people just stay disassociated and never know why.

I believe it. But I'd wager that number has gone up somewhat over time since the internet and general awareness/ discourse about gender has spread in the past decades
