I know it's some European music thing, and that's the extent of my knowledge or interest.

I would just like to say: women are great. I texted with one of my former classmates last night (the one who looks like Courtney Barnett) and we had a great chat about what our goals are (mine moreso than hers: shes already waist-deep in school work) and I told her about how rough my month has been: my parents being getting COVID and not being able to see my girlfriend and she commiserated and lamented she hasnt seen her boyfriend in a few weeks and is sad about it. And I ended by reminding her that the semester has just begun and it was important for her to sleep well. It was just such a positive, supportive dynamic.

Female friendship is so beautiful.

No. Were simply far more likely to be open about it and more likely to openly engage in polyamory (which can be mistaken by outsiders as hypersexual). You see, when everyone hates you already, why not deviate a little more?

Today's euphoria? I almost cried brushing my hair, because it's gotten so long and it's really objectively lovely hair.

However, not seeing my girlfriend so far this month is really messing with my equilibrium. One of my coworker friends comforted me a little - women are legit fucking great. We watch out for each other and comfort each other and lift each other up.

She's immunocompromised - it would be highly irresponsible to expose her to a cold, let alone COVID. I can tell the distance weighs on her: she said she wished she could take care of me, and is constantly urging me to put ginger and turmeric in my tea when I'm sick. Lately, she said I should stir it with a cinnamon stick, but we don't have those. I made the mistake of putting cinnamon powder in: it just clumped up in the bottom and gave me a nasty surprise lol.

Like, she is absolutely the kind of person who is psychologically primed to take of others.

I actually do want to sleep with her, full disclosure: I happen to think she's very attractive (as is Courtney Barnett, if you're wondering) and has a very nice style and this kind of soft, smoky voice. My girlfriend is poly, so our relationship is open, but it feels like to me this relationship is purely platonic, and, well...
I've learned one shouldn't be greedy. This alone is a blessing, after all. I hope CB is half as sweet as this lady.

As for my year, it's been way worse so far. Full of sickness and distance from my heart.
Last January was my first month out. January 15th was when I messaged her. And it was the 17th when she answered, and our endless conversation began. So last January was a great one!

Is half-baked acceptance from cisgenders worse than being actively hated by them? I've seen a few transgenders outright claiming they'd rather be openly persecuted and hunted down than contend with mixed tolerance from others. Do you believe that kind of attitude only drives away people?

Do you think a person trying to get guys to transition is transphobic and/or manipulation? I'm having an argument with someone about this.

I'm not really sure what you mean by "mixed tolerance". Do you mean we should shut up, be invisible and quiet? That we should conform to the nonsense that is societal gender norms? Do you believe some one being rude is grounds to deprive them of life and liberty?

Because I don't. I'm here, I'm queer, I'm not going anywhere. And if you don't think I deserve to be here, if you think my rights are conditional on me conforming to the expectations of cis "allies" or concern-trolling opinion columnists, then yeah: you should be more honest with yourself.

I don't think you understand what you're talking about. But it sounds awfully like a common anti-trans trope!

Can you explain more? I think it's okay for the transperson to actively "recruit" in such a manner but people I'm interacting with call it grooming.

I don't know how you can, really. The term I've seen is "pick me trans" - basically they seek to ingratiate themselves with the existing power structure by throwing the rest of us under the bus (see Caitlin Jenner, Blair White, and Buck Angel et. al.) and calling us somehow uniquely degenerate in comparison.

Basically, they think the leopard that's promising to eat all our faces won't eat theirs if they play nice. But of course it will eat their faces too, if given half the chance. However, trans people are often sacrificing social privilege by transitioning (moreso trans women than trans men, of course, but trans masculinity just generally isn't taken seriously by society and they are still subjected to misogyny while also sometimes being villainized by trans femmes and enbies as unsafe because they are men, when it's almost always cis men who're the threats to us) and so we sometimes end up clinging to whatever privilege we have left for dear life (whether that's privilege from being white, wealthy, or both). And I don't know how you make them see that their lot is fundamentally the same as ours.

This is neither here nor there, but a lot of white trans people seem to come to the conclusion that since they're a minority, they can't be racist. Which, well...is anything but the case.

Anyway, I had a delightful afternoon. I picked up an enby friend (flannel enby) the next town over and drove upstate so we could hang out with my other enby (dapper dandy) friend who lives up there (I am friends with four enbies). They live in a pretty nice suburban town: we went out to this little coffee shop/brunch place and had a fantastic meal. Dapper dandy is a vet and thus is probably wealthier than me and flannel enby combined and generously picked up the bill for lunch.

They we just went back to dapper dandy's place, listened to music, drank juice, talked, and chilled out. Dapper dandy's trans woman friend visited us and we had a lovely time just chit-chatting. I told some stories about my girlfriend of course, because I can never shut up about her.
