This is actually painful to listen to.

Yeah, I watched a couple of episodes from the latest season not too long ago, and it's just bad.

I know her VA is like 80 or something, but it might be time for a recast if she's struggling to keep the voice going.

Julie Kavner is 72.

Sounds the same, but raspier and older. Something completely normal.

Edit: Also seems her husband for 47 years died last november. That tends to make people deteriorate faster at that age.

The Simpsons has been going on for well over thirty years, and none of the voice actors were very young when the Tracy Ulman show was going.
Castellaneta is one of the youngest of the bunch, and he's sixty-five.

After Disney paying over 70 bill for Fox, they need to milk that cow as dry as they can.

They've got over 30 years of recordings. Just have AI do all the voices. Hell, have AI write the show, too.

To be fair, that was a 1-on-1 match where Ash used one of his weaker Pokemon that he hadn't touched since his journey through Hoenn and the Battle Frontier.

It's very sad they're going to keep the show rolling until the main voice cast literally drops dead but after the Bruce Willis thing with the reveal he was saving up for retirement and to support his family, I guess I understand why no one would ever forgo The Simpsons paychecks regardless of how bad it is now.

Dat was one of the worst things Ive ever seen. And I have seen more than my fair share of 90s CGI.

That's rough. At this point they should have Marge have some crazy experiment or accident happen that de-ages her to explain a new voice actress, since right now it just feels like Marge has some throat cancer that no one notices or acknowledges.

Before Marge Simpson, Julie Kavner was already famous for her role in the 1974 sitcom "Rhoda" starring Valerie Harper. This should give you an idea of how long her acting career has been.
