Please waste time, energy and money on driving to the doctor instead of fucking resting.

Your average worker does not need a doctor for the average ilness and if your sick leave policy is nonexistent or something like a paltry 3 days you are likely actively harming your buisness.

Food poisoning guests, poorer service/food quality, turning a single abscence into many, lowering morale...its sacrificing so much to make a day or few days slightly ceasier.

Yeah, shit like this is dumb. It's just to inconvenience you. Going to urgent care for the doctor to write a note is a waste of everyone's time. The doctor doesn't want to bother with it either

In my brief time in urgent care, at least 50% patients were there for common cold type of illnesses...sore throats, cough, headache, sinus congestion, allergies etc...and 90% of them were there because they simply needed a doctors note.

I honestly didn't mind because it was just an easy visit for me, patients were nice and not demanding, so whatever.

But I agree, shouldn't need a doctors note for a few days of illness. If you're out for like a week then sure

I would argue requring doctors notes should have many limits with strictly enforced penalties.

Its a massive public health hazard that increases spread of disease and diminishes capacity of medical facilities on pointless visits. It probably contributes to antibiotic resistance as doctors feel pressured or sometimes even demanded by patients to prescribe something even if its pointless.

In European countries you're rewarded sooo many sick days, in Europe bankruptcy isn't that common. In America you barely get any sick days and bankruptcy is a very common thing.

If workplaces actually tried to be humane, paid well and critical facilties like banks and doctors didn't run hours that make using them on a workday nigh impossible this would barely be an issue.

Also many jobs health insurance has co-pays so getting a doctors note likely costs money on top of the lost wages.

Oh and needing a doctor note when you don't even get insurance from your job is super fucked up.

Swear to go its a fix to force people to spend money on the health system.

My job gives us only 2 days to use sick leave before having to require a note for 3 days or more.
Kinda feels like a fair compromise and most family practices use video conf and pdf notes anyway so you don't have to waste time travelling to an office possibly infecting everyone else.

I'm aware not everyone has this luxury but I wish they did because I'm cool with it .

I know I've seen at least one friend get sick and miss 2 days and on top of lost wages they'd pay about how much they had to earn just to see a damn doctor because no insurance. :/ The whole system is fucked.
