I had one of these as a kid. We were running around the neighborhood shouting "FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE" and people started running out of their homes thinking there was an actual fire. We got in a lot of trouble that day.

It doesn't, lol. It has some level of volume sensitivity, so (to an extent) the louder you shout, the further it shoots, but it's nowhere near as good as a traditional Super Soaker.

I had one and no it doesn't that commercial is straight bullshit and you will give yourself laryngitis from screaming so loud just to barely shoot less than a super soaker.

For parents it's like the equivalent of giving their kid a drum set in terms of how obnoxious it is.

I remember that. Didn't know anyone who had one though. I had the Super Soaker 300 which was great.

I had a bunch of Super Soakers. My favorites were

CPS 2000: It took like 30 seconds of solid pumping for a shot that lasted 1 second, and it kicked when you shot it
CPS 3200: Was as big as the above and had a 2 gallon backpack. At least you could pick adjustable nozzles for longer sustained fire.
Monster XL: Jesus fuck this double barreled beast was amazing but way too heavy for little kid me

Yeah, the commercial is very misleading. Like... The kid says "Give 'em a bath!" and the thing shot a constant stream. In reality, the stream itself is much smaller than that and it would have stopped as soon as he stopped talking.

Same. I was more into nerf and toy melee weapons than super soaker, but the commercial makes it look cool.
