Now there are some downsides to this. For instance, doordash and other delivery services upcharge for items, on top of service and delivery fees, and tip. They are extending a hand to help people in certain shitty situations, but it's not like it's altruistic. They'll make plenty of money out of tapping a new market.

If you have a negative opinion of people who need SNAP benefits, I'd like to point out that in the grand scheme of the American capitalist hellscape, you are infinitely closer to being a person who needs that assistance than you ever will get to being the kind of rich that would benefit from getting rid of it. Food for thought next time you decide to look down your nose at your fellow man.

Scroll down to FAQs, literally says it doesn't cover fees/tip and items are still subject to USDA guidelines for what can be ordered. Only the smoothest of brains start shitposting after seeing a single twitter screenshot w/o looking into it.

Just a single average order from Grubhub will soak up at least 25% of an individual's allotted monthly balance so let anyone go nuts if they want, it's their choice to be stupid.

Amazon Fresh also does EBT Delivery with an option to tip your driver. EBT covers everything.

for people who cant physically go to a store fine. For everybody else, oh well thats their EBT card. Still dumb as shit

actually i'm gonna retract my statement. if someone on ebt deems the $15-20 delivery+tips to be worth it, who am i to say don't spend it. i keep thinking if i was on ebt, i'd be willing to just do the shopping myself and be able to spend that money on more food. but everyone's got a different situation.

Idk maybe it's better now, I used to drive for them and they price gouge the absolute shit out of stuff and constantly have weird conflicts with the store about what's actually on the menu. Like I'd look at a customer order and then see what the store was actually charging and it's like...fucking...shit you could buy almost an entire extra meal with the difference sometimes. >___>

Though if you absolutely need delivery it's better than nothing. But between the price and the fact that there's pretty much zero barrier of entry to becoming a driver besides "have a car"... <_______<

By the time you pay the delivery fee, service fees, and tip you could have pretty much bought another meal in most cases. It's a rip-off.

But that's not really the services itself though, the actual service does what it's supposed to do pretty effectively.

Uber used to give a lot of coupons that made it more worth it as an occasional treat, but I haven't got one in forever.

As for the actual topic, food stamps shouldn't be limited. I'm also assuming that not everyone on food stamps is able-bodied. I'm not American, but I assume people on disability also will often need food stamps and might not be able to easily make it to the store. Or elderly people.

If you can and you choose not to, likely that's an irresponsible decision. But it's your decision to make ultimately. And it's not a reason to cut it off for people who don't have other options.
